For the last time, the 2023 World Championships took place in Riesa / Germany (since 1999), which caused sentimental feelings among many. As always, everything was very well organized. The competition from 20 countries / 5 continents was great. Switzerland was represented by about 100 dancers, who arrived for the the first time in a while with a united SwissTap outfit. The mood among the Swiss was great and the dancers were loudly supported!
Also new international friendships were made. What is ultimately the most important thing at a world championship is how great the cohesion in the “Tap Family” can be. This was shown strongly when Fabio Guillelmon dislocated his shoulder on stage, was then treated by the Czech physio-therapist and thanks to his support was able to continue his tap performance.
It is a great pleasure to be part of such a community!
Swiss Tap congratulates to the bronze and the two silver medals for Switzerland, the many final places and all participants for their great achievement, the great fun with Tap and their great commitment.
